A page a day for a year

First sixteen pagesAfter a few days into this project,I realized that I would not be able to do the pages in the order that they would eventually appear.I have been jumping from one idea to the next, making a semblance of sense in my head ,but Im sure quite a discombobulted mish mash to those of you following the day by day process. Some of the pages have made me cringe.but I have posted them anyway, because I think all(well most) of it should be in here.Other days I have learnt new things like scanning, cutting , pasting, sewing and various fabulous applications that have blown my mind.Im finally getting into the flow of things  and a sequence is coming together. This is creatively one of the bravest things I have done in years and Im loving it.

Day12:Straight to the core

'You are a fragment of me..Every single living thing is a piece in a giant puzzle, and every piece has its place..all of those pieces make up me,but I am the scource of it all.i am the pinprick center of a spiral that goes out and comes back in.I am your inner voice,iIam the truth.

Day8:Paros,Greece

As well as the inward journey,I was running wild and free on the outside.I loved the thrill of living hand to mouth, with nothing to tie me down.I savoured the conversations i had with strangers, beacause there were no preconceived ideas or worries that my words might cause harm...or the other way around. There was nothing to hide...all that existed in those moments was the raw and beautifl truth.. I ran and ran..away from everything I knew and was trying desperately to catch up with myself..I eventually found myself on the Greek island of Paros..aplace full of lost souls on the run..I had come home..

Day 5:Alas in Wonderland

Several years ago..over a period of nine years,Ilost my Father, two Brothers and my first true love..I chose to journey inside of myself, until i found a safe warm place..I found myself in another realm,an imaginary fairytale place, where I could go whenever I wanted.A place where nobody died and no pain dwelt..I called this place'Absolute Elsewhere',and I spent years roaming its hills and meeting its inhabitants.as I drew and painted..I felt present and connected..all was well with the world..This book is a patchwork of my thoughts, images and theories and tales..The purpose of the book for me was to hold myself together...Ican now see this in hindsight. However the origanal purpose was to inspire people to tap into their own imaginations and realize that with the power of imagination..anything is possible..

Day 4:The milliagon theory

We all have many faces and facets.imagine we are all multifaceted balls with honeycomb shaped windows. Each of these windows represents an emotion.all of theseballs are made of the same emotions. However, what makes us unique is the sequence of the emotions we choose to feel. This is what gives us our pattern and lays down our path... Imagine the very middle of everything. The point where a spiral goes out..and comes back in...This is the point Im on about .It spirals out in concentric circles, and along these circles are our honeycomb balls. As the balls travel, they twist and turn on their own axis,as the events of life spin them around.

Day 1: A page a day for a year

I struggle with self control, and on a whim have decided to give myself a project of doing a page a day of a book. For those of you who have known me for a long time..I have been working on a book for years…This is the self same book, except it will be tweaked..Since having the twins, the book got put in a drawer and has not been seen.I am hoping to breathe new life into it…Some of the pages will be brand new, some will be altered artwork and others will be illustrations I have done before.
I havent given this project much thought at all to be honest and decided to just do it..and think about it later..So it might be a bit topsy turvy and lacking in flow..but Im hoping that as time goes on it will find a flow of its own.
I have also decided to only do this Monday to Friday.Weekends are for playing with my kids:)

handmade altered art paper

So there I was… somewhere out there in Absolute Elsewhere…

Little Miss sew ‘n sew..

Button OOAK art doll

I spent the weekend in London and found myself at ‘The Cloth House’,My friend and I squeeled with delight at the vintage haberdashery items placed around the shop with casual flair..I felt like I was in my own little Haberdashery Heaven..Wooden cotton reels, giant old scissors, shabby chic cabinets, not to mention all the beautiful fabrics…Little Miss sew ‘n sew is inspired by the items in the shop,The borrowers and Pippi Longstocking..I had her in my head and just had to make her.I decided to make the figurine entirely from polymer clay..To be honest it was like working with bubblegum! In the future I will stick to doing the face in polymer clay and the body in epoxy.Anyway,I managed to capture the essence of the idea I had in my head and thats the main thing.
